The Museum of the Archaeological Site of ‘Eleftherna – Homer in Crete’, is the first museum of an archaeological site in Crete. Although smaller in size, it is equivalent to those of Olympia, Delphi and Vergina. It was created to house the findings of the excavations that have been carried out for thirty years in the ancient city of Eleftherna.
The originality of this museum, apart from the fact that the Homeric world in Crete is verified, also consists in the fact that the objects of the permanent exhibition are renewed from time to time by new and older findings of the excavations. The exhibition is accompanied by original and contemporary audiovisual applications.
